Does the skin colour come out right?

Yes. Colour and any spotting on the skin are checked against the photo before the portrait passes.

Which styles should I avoid?

None are off limits, but styles that lean on fur texture, such as impressionist, have less to work with. Charcoal, art deco and oil are the strong choices.
