In memory

A portrait of the pet you lost, painted from a photo you already have

When a pet dies, the photos stop. What is left is a camera roll of ordinary moments, and often the best one is not a good photograph. A painted portrait handles that better than a print does: it keeps the face, the eyes and the markings, and lets go of the phone-camera noise, the cluttered kitchen and the harsh flash.

There is no rush with this one. Take the time to choose the photo, and if nothing you have feels right, email us before you order and we will tell you honestly whether it will work. [email protected]

From €7.99. A print-ready file, not a parcel: you print it and frame it.

Why it lands

What a painted portrait does here

  • Older, softer and slightly blurry photos often work better here than they would as a print.
  • The painting removes the background and the phone-camera look, and keeps the face.
  • You choose from three versions of the portrait, so nothing is decided for you.
  • The file has nothing added to it, no mark and no logo, so it is ready to frame as it is.

What to do with it

From file to frame

What you download is a print-ready image sized to the frame you picked. These three steps are the whole job.

  1. 1

Choose the photo, not the best photo

Pick the one where the expression is theirs, even if it is a little soft or badly lit. Face clearly visible and some light in the eyes is enough. Screenshots from a video often work.

  2. 2

    See the three versions

Each style comes back three times. Sit with them before you choose; small differences in the eyes matter more here than anywhere else.

  3. 3

    Print it once, properly

Matte or fine-art paper on a good printer, or a photo shop that will show you a proof. The file is sized for the frame you chose, so nothing is cropped away.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Often yes. The portrait is painted, not sharpened, so soft focus matters much less than it would for a photo print. What it needs is a clearly visible face and some light in the eyes. If the face is small in the frame or in deep shadow, the likeness suffers, and our check will warn you before you pay.

Print sizes are where the file stays sharp at arm’s length. Larger frames work too, they just look softer up close. Printed and framed delivery is on the way; for now you print with the shop or service you trust.
