Will my pet wear a ruff or a crown?

No. The animal is painted as itself, in the manner of the period. We deliberately avoid costumes so the portrait ages well.

Does it work with a light-coloured pet?

Yes. A white or cream coat against the dark background is exactly the contrast this style is built on.
